Have you ever heard the saying:                "You do what you value and you value what you do."
Doesn't that seems to be true if you really think about it?  If we look at where we spend our time, there's a pretty good chance it will reveal what we value.

At Cornerstone, here is what we VALUE:

We value loving relationships.
Our greatest desire is to help people grow in their relationship with God and with the people around them.  Everything else flows from this value.  If we find that a program or a way of doing things is hindering relationships, then we get rid of it.  Nothing is more important than loving God and loving our neighbor as ourselves.

We value authentic community.
Authentic community is a reflection of our triune God: Father, Son and Spirit.  At Cornerstone we seek to put God on display by and through a community of people who have surrendered their lives to Jesus and are empowered to serve by the Holy Spirit.  In this community we "do life" together and we "come alongside" one another in our journey with God.  We bring all of our good stuff and our bad stuff and we deal with it in a loving redemptive environment that seeks to heal and grow instead of criticize and condemn.

We value humble service.
At Cornerstone, the leaders serve.  Our elders lead by serving (in fact, everyone of them have been caught emptying trash, mopping floors and serving behind the scenes).  It is what we believe Jesus modeled when He walked on this earth.  To be a leader is to be a servant.  And in order to serve with the right heart, one must be humble.  In this community, pride and power-by-control are not promoted.  Love, humility and service are the hallmarks of a leader at Cornerstone.

We value worshipping through the creative arts.
We embrace the arts as an expression of our great Creator God and so we paint, sing, dance, perform drama, read poetry and use creativity in our worship gatherings.

We value a holistic gospel.
We believe that the Gospel impacts every area of a person's life and culture. We reject unfounded categories that divide the world and our lives into uniquely sacred or purely secular. God doesn't want to redeem only part of our lives, He wants to saturate it all -- our time, our careers, our family life, our entertainment, our money, our sex lives, our thoughts and most of all, our hearts.  Everything is a spiritual issue.  And God is redeeming all of creation through Jesus.

We value a missional mindset.
We believe that the church exists for the world and not for itself - the church is to introduce and usher in the Kingdom of God into every part of this world.
