Worship

We believe that worship is lifestyle and that the goal is for each individual to offer all of the parts of their life to God as they walk with Him daily.

We also believe that it is powerful to gather as a community to worship.  So at our gatherings, we attempt to express our communal faith through prayer, teachings and discussions from God's Word, a variety of music, drama, dance, poetry, meditation and painting.

Worship Expressions

Music ~ The music spans a range of styles from joyful celebration to intimate communion with God. We typically have a live band that plays ALL types of music: Contemporary Christian, Hymns, Gospel, Bluegrass and songs that are written by those in our faith community.

Drama ~ We often express biblical truths through the medium of drama.  We believe in the power of   visual story telling.

Dance ~ We occasionally have members of our community perform interpretive dances to inspiring pieces of music.

Poetry, Writing & Meditation ~ We love to allow time and space to read and meditate on poetry and writings from people in our own community and from those who have gone before us on this journey of faith.

Painting ~ Almost every week we have someone worship by painting throughout the entire Worship Gathering.  Most of the time the painting is a response to the worship music, teaching and discussion.  Other times, it is a reflection of what is going on in the heart and mind of the worshipper who is painting.

Worship Gathering Format

We believe in the priesthood of all believers and that belief shapes the format of our Worship Gatherings.  We choose to sit in the round or semi-round with the speaker(s) and worship team as a part of the circle for several reasons:

  • Because our gatherings are not primarily "performances";
  • To symbolize and live out the fact that we are a faith community who live openly with one another;
  • To share the "power" of the microphone and provide a place for the body of Christ to use the gifts they have been given by the Holy Spirit.
