Cornerstone Community Our community of faith is comprised of a very diverse and multi-cultural group of people. Here is a snapshot of who we are: Our community has about 120 people who call Cornerstone their home. Our community is ethnically diverse with approx. 1/3 African Americans, 1/3 Caucasions & 1/3 Latinos. We offer Spanish Translations at our Worship Gatherings. On any given Sunday, about 35-40% of our Worship Gathering attendance is under the age of 18. People come to Cornerstone from Chula Vista, Eastlake, El Cajon, Imperial Beach, La Mesa, Lemon Grove, National City, San Diego, & Spring Valley. We are a very loving, non-judgemental group. We strive to use team based leadership instead of hierarchical governing structures. We have a very casual environment. We love hanging out together. We love meeting new people. We love reaching out to those who are less fortunate or who need help in some way. Cornerstone loves serving the seniors at Terrace Gardens Seniors Apartment Complex in Lemon Grove. We cook & serve Christmas dinner there and we hold a Mother's Day Tea Party for them as well.

Lemon Grove Community The community that we gather in for our weekly Worship Gatherings is in the city of Lemon Grove, CA. Many of the members of our faith community live in Lemon Grove, including Pastor Mark and his family. Pastor Mark also works part-time at the Starbucks that is right in the heart of Old Town Lemon Grove. Lemon Grove was settled in 1869 by its first known permanent resident, sheep rancher Robert Allison. In the early 1900's the community acquired its name when large citrus groves were planted and when lemon and orange growing and shipping became the area's major industry. By World War II, most of the citrus groves had disappeared and suburbanization had begun. By 1960, most of the easily developable land was gone. Lemon Grove was incorporated as a general law city in 1977. Lemon Grove's population is around 26,000 Lemon Grove is 9 miles from downtown San Diego Lemon Grove enjoys warm, mild weather characteristic of Mediterranean climates.
